A New Book! Thirteen Days to Darkness

After a long hiatus, I'm back, and I've written a new book!

Actually, I've written two new books during my absence.  I'm excited to share them both!

Child of the Shire (2nd Edition) is a collection of stories, anecdotes, and reflections about my childhood.  I had a lot of great adventures!  Look for me flying an airplane, among other things!  Do get the 2nd edition, though; it followed the 1st edition by only a few weeks, and contains about a hundred pages of more stories.

BRAND NEW!!  Thirteen Days to Darkness will be available on my Author Page at https://www.amazon.com/Debbie-Barry/e/B00D9S79PE , in 6x9 inch paperback, in just a few days!  It tells the story of how I became legally blind, starting in December, 2014.  From the book cover:

"On December 15, 2014, the darkness came.  There was no warning.  No one could stop it.  It changed my life.

"This is a true, intimate, autobiographical account of going blind.  Arranged like a journal,  this honest,  open story takes readers through the first days of going blind,  through the baffling search for answers from doctors,  and through the first year and longer of living with blindness.

"Emotionally fraught, the journey is sad, fearful, sweet, hopeful, angry, harsh, and loving, by turns.  Filled with photos, descriptions, and dialogue, it illustrates the heartache and hope of this life-altering experience.

"In a story of inner, emotional darkness, as well as physical, visual darkness, the author continually identifies the spiritual and emotional lights that support her on her journey.  Family, friends, and events are critical to the author's survival when blindness engulfs her life."
